Ok, so to follow my cheesecake posting, I have to fill you AG’s in on the Power Plate workout! If you’ve stepped foot in a gym in the last couple of years you are likely to have seen one. I was always a little bit skeptical, and a lot-a-bit nervous to try these crazy machines out until one of my girlfriends convinced me to do a trial class at the Powertone Studio in Chelsea.
O-M-G! WHAT a workout! After doing push-ups, sit-ups, holding the plank position, etc etc for a half an hour on the vibrating plate I could barely walk. I have since signed up for ten sessions, and used three of them. I love it because you can work every muscle group and it only takes have an hour. An added bonus- I can take mini-AG who can sit in the pram next to me and either giggle at mummy doing lunges, or sleep (on account of the vibrating noise of the plate-seriously!)
The studio in Chelsea has four slots, and depending on the hour you go it is usually not full so you end up getting a very personal workout with one of the trainers. There are also Powertone Studios located in Mayfair, Fulham, Battersea, and in the City. If you don’t want to commit to a package at Powertone but have access to a Power Plate at your gym, its worth signing up for the free trial to learn how to use it!
