When Kurobuta first popped up on the Kings Road, I was instantly hooked. The delicious Japanese fusion menu created by Scott Hallsworth, has caused lines out the door of the small restaurant and prompted the opening of bigger venue in Marble Arch. Well, I hadn’t even made it to the second location yet when I was excited to learn that Scott has teamed up with Piers Adams (of Mahiki, Bodo Schloss and Whisky Mist) to take over the Old Brompton Club, and create a brand-new members-only Kurobuta in the heart of South Kensington. Introducing, Ramusake.
When friends asked me how our evening at Ramusake was, it was a simple and easy answer… “Its Kurobuta, but sexy.” This is the place to go if you want the same delicious tuna sashimi pizza, but in a super chic atmosphere. The inspiration for the space, according to Scott and Piers, is the underground speakeasy vibe of New York’s East Village.
My other favorite items on the menu have to include the Beef Fillet Tataki with Onion Ponzu and Garlic Crisps, and the Komu Roasted Chilean Seabass with Spicy Shiso Ponzu.
Want to stay late night? A number of the latest DJs have been booked to provide music for the weekend nights.
