American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

{Eat & Drink} Kurobuta… Just make a reservation… now!

Husband and I spent Saturday-night-date-night at Kurobuta on Kings Road last week. The “pop-up” restaurant opened a little while ago now, but it has been so popular that it has stuck around while looking for another Chelsea location…. And I’ll tell you why- because the food is AAAAAAMAZING!!!

When we walked into the restaurant it was packed and so we were led downstairs to the small bar, where we ordered cocktails. I ordered a saketini and then we were taken to our table. Warning, the tables are super close together, to the point where we made friends with our neighboring diners, but it was fun because we were basically all just raving about how good the food was.

After glancing at the menus there were so many things that sounded delicious so we just let our sweet server, Kate, decide for us. Her selection was impeccable.

MAKE SURE YOU ORDER….

The beef fillet tataki with onion and ponzu and garlic crisps,

The tuna sashimi pizza with truffle ponzu, red onions and green chillies (honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten),

The Wagyu beef sliders, brioche bun, crunchy onions, cucumber and umami mayo,

the Jerusalem artichoke chopsticks with truffle ponzu dip,

and the spicy tuna maki rolled in tempura crunchies (I ate them too fast to get a photo!)

I’ve already booked a table to go back in a few weeks, and I literally can’t wait!

Kurobuta is located at 251 Kings Road, SW35EL for a while longer until they find a Chelsea location, they will also be opening on Kendal Street in Marble Arch.
