If you’re a mom like me, you know that your kids grow out of their clothes like every five seconds, so last weekend, I spent an entire day going through everyone’s clothing, toys, and books and creating piles for charity. Then I opened my own closet, and realized that I too needed some help. I needed a Vicky!
Vicky Silverthorn has come to my house a few times, once to completely declutter my closet, once when we moved house, again to perfect my home offie, and then another time to take the clothes I no longer wear for her “Tags On” shop. (Click link to read more about it!) Well, it had been way too long and the time had come for Vicky to pay me another visit.
First of all my summer and winter wardrobe was completely intermixed and coats were hanging next to bathing suit cover-ups, and it turns out, there were a ton of items that I no longer was wearing and probably would be better suited to donating. Vicky came over with one of her trusted assistants and we began going through everything. It really helps when you are able to take a second to go through every item in your closet and try to remember when the last time you wore it was. I ended up donating a ton of things to charity and also to Vicky’s “Tags On” shop which resells gently used brand-name clothing. It was also the perfect time to have Vicky pull out all my thick coats and jumpers and put them away for the Spring/Summer.
Vicky also created a “holiday” section in my closet- with all of my bathing suits, sarongs, and beach dresses so that I can easily pack the next time I am hitting the beach. She also sourced the perfect box to keep my furs for the summer!
After spending a few hours going through everything with Vicky, I needed to do the school run so I headed out the door. When I returned not only was my closet in perfect condition, but Vicky also was able to take away all of the bags of children’s clothing to charity for me as well. Now when I go get to get dressed I can actually see each and every item of clothing that I own and it’s so much easier to get ready in the morning!
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, YOU NEED A VICKY!
