Hi gorgeous AGs. I’ve been a bad blogger again. December has been totally bonkers, mostly involving work and travel, and I have SO much to share with you.
So lets get started. Right now we’re in Los Angeles because my best friend is getting married on Saturday in La Jolla. Because we knew we had to do a January California trip we decided to find a place within the UK to spend Christmas, just us four. After doing some research we came across Gleneagles in Scotland. My Husband has golfed there before and he knew I would appreciate the great food, and the presence of an Espa Spa.
After being delayed in Heathrow from the weather, all I wanted to do was put on this bathrobe.
Gleneagles at Christmas is perfect for families. The hotel offers a Christmas-Cracker package which includes a family room, all meals included, and four nights for the price of three, which means you can spend the entire week of Christmas at the resort and only have to worry about paying extra for your cocktails.
This burger in the clubhouse was one of the best I’ve ever eaten!
In addition to a kids club, salon, nail bar, and several amazing restaurants, Gleneagles has something for everyone in your family during the holidays. There were fireworks on Christmas Eve, just after Santa’s elves came to pick up those last minute letters for Santa. Mini-AG enjoyed cooking classes, drama sessions, and multiple laps around the ice-skating rink. Mini-AB enjoyed the movie theatre that was playing children’s movies all day long. Santa also made a special visit on Christmas Day with a present for each child, and a photo-op for us parents.
The ballroom was set up each night for dinner, with live music and gorgeous Christmas decorations.
Fireworks!
The hotel has an amazing babysitting service called “Little Royals” and we were provided with the same lovely babysitter, named Nicole, for each night we wanted to have dinner without the littles. Husband also enjoyed a Scotch tasting, and I spent Boxing Day in the spa, having a fab massage.
Merry Christmas to mommy, spa time!
All in all, the week of Christmas was totally magical. I would love to go back when the kids are a bit older, and have the opportunity to get involved in even more activities.
