American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

The Perfect Blow-Out!

May 17, 2010 | 7 Comments

Anytime I am in the need of a little pick me up, I opt for a good blow-dry. There is something about having your hair professionally done that makes such a difference. I often think, it would be the best part of being a celebrity- having someone able to give you that perfect bounce at any time. It lasts for days longer than I can do myself, and always just makes me feel glam. So, as you can tell this one little beauty treatment is pretty important to me- which is why I share with you one of my most important finds in the city of London- James Pryce.
James works out of Richard Ward in Duke of York Square, and he is brilliant. I recommended him to a girlfriend last week, and she went back a second time in the same week. If you’re in need of a hair-cut, James is equally brilliant in that arena. I’ll often be sitting with the latest copy of Hello! or Grazia and he will hint that the starlet on the cover is showing off his haircut. Enough said- book an appointment!
If you would like to recommend a great stylist in your part of London please get in touch. Although American Girl is based in Chelsea, I would love to hear the treasures you have found in your part of the city!

If someone is up for a cheap(20 quid) and cheerful blow dry try Hershondons at Top Shop! I had to stop in there after a long day of work before the SEX AND THE CITY premiere and in 15 minutes they made me feel worthy of the event! They have 8 (i think) styles to chose from and I can tell you from experience that the Bardot and the Wavy Gravy are a fabulous way to get a compliment! Supposedly they are going to have 12 styles by the end of the summer! At that price I may need to try all of them! x

I went to Richard Ward last week and Joey is great there as well. After my cut he did a blow dry and put curlers in my hair to give extra voomph! Best blow dry I have had yet 🙂

    AG–

Just to let you know that James Pryce is now at the Josh Wood Salon in Holland Park. It was lovely to see him again, not to mention getting an amazing cut and blowdry, of course!

    AG,

Just want to thank you so much for your recommendation for Danielle.
She did an amazing job of my blonde hair – I could not be happier!

    Thanks again!
