Last month, the website rtister (pronounced arttister) launched and created a whole new way of discovering style. The site allows users to preview collections from emerging designers and create a pinterest-type board of the looks that you love. rtister then makes the pieces that are “loved” the most, available for purchase to its members. This way the designers receive feedback on their collections from their fans- YOU!
And these aren’t just any ol’ designers. Featured names have included Masc who won Selfridges “Bright Young Things” award and Dominque Kral, the 2011 Zandra Rhodes award winner of Graduate Fashion Week. The selection is also highly international. Aussie label Francis Leon (see coat below) and New York based Jennifer Behr have also been featured. The new S/S13 collection is particularly exciting featured Sweden’s fashion-forward Altewaisaome, chic Brit brand Negarin London (check out those cute red shorts!) and edgy Italian shoe label Cinza Araria.
Here are some of my favorites on right now…
Sedgwick Tuxedo blazer by Style Stalker
Seattle knit top and Sydney shorts by Negarin
The Bazar Maze Silk Scarf by Athena Procopiou
Elle Driver leather wool blend coat by Francis Leon
The difference between rtister and other fashion sites is the role that it’s members play in the buying process. You’re able to explore what’s going to be hot next season, mark it as “loved” and then share with your friends. Your interactions with the site heavily influences what rtister stocks for you to buyy. And the bonus is that when a piece has been “loved” and becomes available to purchase, rtister will inform you and offer exclusive offers on the collection.
