A few weeks ago I teamed up with the amazingly talented Elika Gibbs to spend an afternoon in the VIP Suite at Liberty London. Liberty has been one of my favorite department stores ever since I moved to London. I usually head to either the stationary or home departments, although I always knew they had several incredible floors of fashion, and I was thrilled to be asked to come take a sneak peek at where all the styling magic takes place.

As luck would have it, I met Elika at a dinner party and begged her to spend an afternoon with me at Liberty. Elika came over to my home a few days before our session and had me show her my closet, and try on several different things so that she could get a sense of my style. The day of the shoot, Elika arrived at Liberty at the crack of dawn to pull looks and create perfect ensembles based on upcoming events that I had.

I had one of the most fun times ever trying on the different selections laid out for me in the beautiful dressing rooms. Elika nailed every look I needed. The Kenzo dress with vintage fur bolero was perfect for the Dolce and Gabanna tree lighting party at Clairidges, and the green Roland Mouret was the perfect option for a formal Thanksgiving party. The Victoria Beckham top with the perfect pair of J brand mid-rinse jeans was a great every-day school run-t0 lunch option, and the Roksanda Illincic blouse with black satin skirt is most likely going to be worn to my husband’s office Christmas party. The Kenzo lime green skirt is one of the many items still available online, and was one of my favorite looks. It was one of those pieces I never thought would suit my body shape, but was perfect.

That was the beauty of working with Elika, she honored my sense of style, but still pushed my fashion boundaries, and ultimately created the most lovely outfits. To read more about Elika you can visit her website, The Practical Princess. I would also highly recommend booking a day in the VIP Personal shopping wing at Liberty. You won’t be disappointed.

A special thanks to Scarlet Rainer for the fab makeup and  Matheiu Clabaux for great hair. Thank you also to Ashley Boyd, Head of Service and Private Clients at Liberty London, and Natasha Willmore for the photos.
