American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

{Practical Tid-Bits/Book Review} The Regal Rules for Girls

August 16, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Jerramy Fine, a fellow-AG, has just come out with her second book entitled “The Regal Rules for Girls.” In the book, the extremely witty Jerramy explains everything about your transition to London (with special emphasis on finding a well-to-do Brit to marry)  including how to get upgraded to first-class on your flight over (wear pearls!), how to find a roommate when arriving in London (Facebook) and how to curtsey when you meet the Queen. Ok, so not all of it is totally practical or relevant to most of us, but I really did enjoy reading the chapter on the hilarious differences between a US and UK accent.

Who It’s Perfect For..

Any American Girl coming to London for the first time, especially if you’re applying for college. You’ll appreciate Jerramy’s tips on where to apply and how to ensure your visa is valid still after you graduate. It’s also great as a handy reference for those of us who have been here a while. Any of you girls remember exactly how to respond to a British wedding invitation? It’s in the Regal Rules.

Snag the book for your friend’s little sister, who’s on her way to Oxford for the semester, on Amazon.com.
