Springtime is a tricky time in London. I always struggle with what to wear during this time of year more than any other. In winter you know you need a coat, and in summer, well lets face it you probably need a light type of coat as well. The point is that just when you think it’s getting a bit warmer, it starts to rain or there’s a random cold snap. (Um, hello, does anyone remember the SNOW last MAY?!)
So my favorite springtime investment right now are shawls. They’re great for breezy London days, are always good for travel, and a must in any type of aggressive air-conditioning situation. I also feel like they always chic-ify a good outfit.
This Gucci one, similar here, has taken me from L.A (where we took the photos above) to London and all around both towns. It can be paired with a lot of things but here I wrapped it around this collared Scotch and Soda shirt, a pair of jeans, and my absolute favorite leather jacket. There’s a few more shawls that are on my hit-list in the shoppable selection below.
As a sidenote, if you haven’t spotted every “it” girl around town in open back loafers this spring you’re clearly not paying attention to footwear (or you have more important priorities, which I respect…) There’s a few of my favorites here as well! Don’t want to shell out for designer? I found one’s that look exactly the same for a major bargain, here.
Have a lovely day!
