If you’re an avid reader you know that I used Night Nannies when Mini-AG was born. The agency specializes in wonderful maternity nurses that can come for one night, or stay up to six months depending on your needs. With Mini-AG, I had a lovely Irish lady come to help our daughter sleep through the night, but the second-time around, I wanted a little more help. I had looked at getting an au pair, I checked out the cost – https://www.goaupair.com/host-families/program-costs/ as well as other details to get one, but I realised that I just needed someone during the night not the day, so we shelved that idea… for now.
When Mini-AB’s arrival was impending, Night Nannies sent over a selection of references for some wonderful sounding maternity nurses. After reading through reference after reference, I interviewed three ladies. Enter Prossy. The minute my husband and I met her, we knew we needed her in our home.
Mini-AB ended up being 5 weeks early, and Night Nannies sent a substitute nanny for the first two weeks. At first I was nervous having someone I hadn’t met yet in my home, but Florence was absolutely wonderful and helped me get through the adjustments of having a premature baby. She made sure that Mini-AB was putting on enough weight, and helped me carefully monitor his jaundice.
Two weeks later, Prossy arrived. Prossy made sure not only the baby was looked after, but the entire family. On top of feeding, changing, and bathing the baby, she cooked for me and the family! She made sure that I was eating well in order to maximize my breast milk, and that I rested each day to recover from my c-section.
After a couple of weeks, Prossy and I became close friends. (Most of our evenings were spent on the couch watching one of my silly reality shows. We had a common bond over our love for Giuliana & Bill.) She is a woman that I respect and treasure, and I will continue to keep in touch with her and invite her to every single one of Mini-AB’s birthdays. I wouldn’t even consider having another baby without her.
If you’re preggo, or considering getting preggo, I would definitely recommend giving Night Nannies a ring. If you’re lucky enough, Prossy or Florence may just be available!

I couldn't agree more. As an expat away from family and friends during such an important time, Night Nannies really helped us with our little one's arrival. We kept extending Nana's stay until we thought we could brave it on our own. I cherish the time we had with Nana and cherish the friendship that evolved! What a fantastic service!
