I am not going to lie to you chickens. Coming back to London after 6 weeks in sunny Los Angeles this summer was tough for me this time around. I’m coming up on 5 years as a London resident (7 if you count studying) and there are times when it is hard to leave the beach, and my dear family and friends behind. I was feeling a little sorry for myself until Friday afternoon.
After swooping a girlfriend up, I headed to Somerset House to partake in a little of the LFW extravaganza. Nothing gets me buzzing like a little fashion. I was invited to the DAKS show and it was fab. The Spring collection is classically British with their heritage check patterns and a nod to the 60’s with huge sunglasses, wide-leg trousers, and plunging necklines. After the show we hid from the rain atop the ME Hotel. (I’ve heard a lot of people chatting about the great views from the Radio Rooftop Bar for a while, and of course had been to STK, but had never made it to the roof.)
So there I sat. Champagne in hand, overlooking the London skyline with fashionistas at every table and I thought, “THIS is why I love this city.” There’s a certain buzz you can’t find anywhere else. So here, I am getting my London groove back, and looking forward to a phenomenal fall.
Speaking of which… save the date: October 10th at 6:30 PM as I will be hosting my second annual Girls Night In at QMS MediCosmetics. But for now, here are some snaps of the DAKS show…
