Last night I was honoured to be invited to view Boyarde’s amazing art exhibition of handbags to celebrate Frieze week. I have been following Boyarde on instagram for a while and adore her quirky, witty designs, that make couture, cool. If you haven’t head of her for some crazy reason, Boyard handpaints her designs on the most covetable Louis Vuitton, Balenciaga, Goyard, and of course Hermès bags to name a few. Celebs from all over the world are begging (and paying her thousands!) to paint their bags. She has entered into a number of fashion collaborations, including with Charlotte Olympia (shoes pictured above) who asked her to design an exclusive number of heels for her ultra-fashionable clientele.
The event was held at the Montagu at the Hyatt Regency London in Portman Square. There was incredible artistic cocktails and best of all I got to meet Boyarde herself! She’s such a sweet lady and I really admire her for merging art with fashion like this. Her designs are on display for a limited time at the Hyatt Regency. For more about Boyarde click here.
