This is a LONG overdue post. My apologies to the super revamped Hollywood Arms for inviting me to their paparazzi-filled-relaunch, and then taking so long to share. Whoops….
The Hollywood Arms on Hollywood Road (just north of Fulham and next door to hot-spot Brinkleys) has been totally redone and I am just a tad in love with the decor, the tea china, and just the general ambiance of this gastro pub.
Upstairs room which can be used for private parties… have you booked your Christmas gathering yet? It has a giant table, perfect for a private supper, and its own bar!
Lovely downstairs
I had a lot of family come into town just before Thanksgiving (and before Husband and I took off for our little holiday) and I booked a table at The Hollywood because I knew my Aunt, an interior decorator, would love it.
We had an incredible lunch. I had a sage and pumpkin tart which was so warm and filling, and then we shared an apple crumble which was out of this world delicious. A perfect winter afternoon meal.
The bar
A little side note: For you American Husbands, and beer-lovers, this is the only place you can get Sierra Nevada on draft. A major selling point for my particular Husband, who was so overwhelmed by the fact that they had decided to implement a commercial beer tap system (draft beer) into their building, that he thanked and praised the bar staff at every opportunity he could get. The chances of us being able to drink Sierra Nevada on draft are few and far between, so as you can imagine, he definitely made the most of this experience. I mean, can you blame him?!
For those of you who don’t know what a draft beer system is – it is a magical device that transports your beverage from the keg to your glass. To put it another way, a draught system is a liquid dispense technology that allows you to pour any beverages from kegs. Moreover, the overall flavor and aroma (aroma) of regular and draught beers differ. Bottle beers store their entire aroma inside their bottles, whereas draught beers are more flavorful because the beverage is poured into the glass, allowing the aroma to stand out for a longer period of time.
Bottom-line. If you’re going to hang-out in a pub, this one is just fabulous.
