Ok, so we know the weather this summer has been beyond bonkers. I hope you have all had a chance to get away and soak up a little sun. BUT, if you haven’t, there is still hope.
Next time the sun peeks out, call The Berkeley and book in for a pool-side picnic. The Berkeley’s sun terrace has been transformed by award winning florist McQueens to resemble the traditional idyllic British countryside. You can sit and enjoy a picnic among singing birds, birch trees and wild lavender.
Husband and I went yesterday, and it poured rain, but we still enjoyed our picnic including home-made lemon iced tea, mini-sandwiches, and wild strawberries and cream. After lunch, we both fell asleep on the pool chairs.
If you’re feeling indulgent you can also book a special spa treatment using Green and Spring products, which are made with herbs and flowers native to the British countryside. Signature treatments range from a 30 minute soothing and skin-clarifying mini Facial to the incredible ‘Green & Spring Indulgence’, a 90 minute treatment which taps into nature’s rich pharmacy to indulge not only the senses but the body using lavender, oats and lemon balm. I opted for a simple 55 minute deep-tissue massage.
The Details: Green & Spring treatments start from £50. Access to pool, health club and garden is included for signature treatments. Half day access to the facilities is priced at £45. The Berkeley offers an overnight Green & Spring package starting from £529 plus VAT (based on 2 people sharing a Superior King room. This includes English breakfast for 2, a 60 min Green & Spring facial per person and access to the garden. Available in August and September 2011, subject to availability. To book call the hotel.
