My two biggest food cravings from L.A are sushi and Mexican. Thankfully, things have gotten a bit better in London and we do have a few options for both. On the Mexican front, if you’re looking for the closest imitation to US style Mexican food, then I would definitely recommend Cantina Laredo. I know that we have Chipotle now, but if you’re looking for a nice margarita and guacamole served table-side then you must head into Covent Garden for a treat.
Cantina is actually a US chain, which is why the service is probably so good. I first discovered the restaurant while having a quacamole craving in Palm Beach. So when I found out they had a London branch I was quite excited…
I went to Cantina last night in Covent Garden for a work function, and they managed to serve 40 of us without skipping a beat. The mini- quesadillas were scrumptious, and the chicken enchiladas were delicious.
If you’re feeling extra indulgent try the chocolate and pecan nut brownie served on a sizzling skillet with Mexican brandy butter and vanilla ice cream!
Or try the Mexican apple pie!
Yum yum yum.

So delish! I love going on Wednesday nights – half price margaritas if you get an entree. Hopefully I'll have tried every flavour in a few weeks 🙂
