{Other Diddies/A Date for your Diary} Republicans Abroad: CALL TO ACTION!
May 29, 2012 by Leave a Comment
As we gear up for the final stretch of the 2012 US Presidential Elections, we thought we would reach out through friends to identify like-minded Americans and introduce them to Republicans Abroad UK.
We are looking for new talent to help with every and anything–from hosting events to helping to register voters, from taking pictures at events to just attending events! Do you know someone who is good with websites? Data bases? Membership duties? Fundraising?
It may be that you were involved with RAUK before—now is the time to re-engage before the exciting countdown to Election Day.
Thanks to the generosity of former RAUK Regional Chairman, George Yates at Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe we have use of their boardroom at 6pm till 7:30pm this Thursday May 31 for a meet and greet where you can Register to Vote, Join RAUK, Renew your Membership, and help brainstorm!
Please email Colleen.Graffy@pepperdine.edu if you plan to attend as security will need your name in advance. Let me know about your area of interest and background as well.
If you cannot make it on Thursday but would like to be involved feel free to call or email to talk about your interests.

{Shopping/Entertainment} MIC Girls Browse Bikini Art

Last Thursday I was invited to attend an “Art Meets Fashion” event at Biondi Couture, my favorite swimsuit boutique on Old Church Street.
Biondi collaborated with British artist Erin Petson, who created stunning visual interpretations of a selection of this season’s key looks from the boutique which included footwear by Nicholas Kirkwood, jewelry by Bex Rox and bespoke swimwear pieces by Biondi Couture.
Oh, and the Made in Chelsea girls were there. Millie Mackintosh, Louise Thompson and Rosie Fortescue enjoyed their tequila cocktails while browsing the artwork.
Make sure to visit Biondi before you go on holiday this summer to fill your suitcase with all of their lovely kaftans, bikinis, and fabulous beach accessories!

{Travel/Eat & Drink} Babyscape at The Corinthia!

On Friday evening our amazing maternity nurse gave us the go-ahead to spend a night away from the little ones and have some much needed couple time. Because the weather has been so incredible I texted a girlfriend to ask what great hotels in the city had some outdoor space where we could have a long lunch in the sun. She quickly responded that if I hadn’t already, I must try the Corinthia.
All I can say is WOW!
The bespoke ‘full moon’ Baccarat chandelier with 1,001 crystals in The Lobby Lounge
We quickly set-up camp in The Courtyard and ordered lunch. The open-face Devon crab sandwich was delish! Although there wasn’t a ton of direct sunlight, it was great to be outside.
And so was the mojito…
After lunch we explored the hotel. There is a mini-Harrods in the Corinthia with all those special things you may like to grab for friends and family.
And an in-house florist to make sure the hotel is always blooming beautiful!
No trip to the Corinthia is complete without a visit to the spa, which is pretty much what the hotel has become known for. Espa Life at the Corinthia is 2,500 square meters of an amphitheatre style sauna, hammam, steam room (with a very convenient ice fountain outside), and rows of private suites and relaxation pods, which I got lost wandering.
I had a fantastic and much-needed deep tissue massage after napping on the marble heated loungers. A little hint, the spa is co-ed so make sure you bring your swimsuit. At first I found this a bit annoying as I am used to not having to pay attention to being clothed in spas, but then I came to realize it’s a great way to relax with your other-half.

While I was having my massage, Hubby ordered room service…
I may have had a few bites!
We woke up on Saturday morning, and ordered a lovely breakfast to the room, only to spot the lovely selections in the lobby on our way out…
We left the Corinthia super relaxed and ready to take Mini AG and Mini AB to a sunny picnic in the park, where Hubby and I decided this “getting away in London for a night” would become a regular affair.
