Spacey. Shakespeare. Savoy…..Richard III opens at the Old Vic.

I was invited to the premiere of Kevin Spacey in Richard III last night at the Old Vic. The production is directed by Sam Mendes, and is the first time he has reunited with Spacey since they took home Oscars for “American Beauty.”

This is the second time I’ve seen Spacey at the Old Vic, and he is simply brilliant.

After the show, we attended the after party at The Savoy. Spacey or no Spacey three hours of Shakespeare deserves a couple glasses of champagne…..

AND, here I am with one of my besties….

(L-R) Christy Osborne and Shanyan Fok attend the after party for the opening night of Richard III at The Savoy on June 29, 2011 in London, England. Richard III directed by Sam Mendes and featuring Kevin Spacey signals the start of the final season of The Bridge Project, a unique series of co-productions by The Old Vic, BAM and Neal Street, devoted to producing large-scale classical theatre for international audiences.

A special thank you to the girls at Austique (Kings Road) for styling me for this event and to Jason at Hari’s for the fab hair.
My dress is by Parker and Shanyan’s adorable glittery number is All Saints.

The Burberry Serpentine Summer Party.

In the middle of a work event last night I got a call that I had a ticket to the Burberry Serpentine Summer Party waiting for me. I ran home and changed from a black Theory suit to red Valentino cocktail dress all in about 3 minutes flat. I know because the taxi meter was running…

I am so sorry to report that my trusty SLR did not fit in my clutch and I wanted to take it all in and not be a geek and photographing, so I don’t have any of my own photos to share. So I will share some of the best from the professionals, here is the link to the Vogue pics.

The Fashion was incredible. Here’s what I learned, everything goes at the annual Serpentine Summer Party. Floral Mini’s, floor-length ball gowns, fur, jeans, leather, wellies, and lots and lots of 10 inch Loubies….

A long and lovely afternoon tea at Claridges.

I love Claridges. Last time I was there I ran into grab a quick drink, after a long day of Christmas shopping, and ended up sitting next to a Los Angeles Laker.
Yesterday I was invited back to have afternoon tea and what an absolute treat! I have been to The Dorchester, Ritz, and Berkeley before for tea and they are all wonderful in their own way, so I was excited to see what extra special touches Claridges had in store, and what made this afternoon tea unique!
We had a 5:30 PM booking which was absolutely perfect to watch the guests from Wimbledon come wandering in, looking for some refreshment after spending the day in the hot sun. It also meant we didn’t need dinner after all this deliciousness…..
Claridges signature china and matching tea menu. Cute cute cute.
The tea menu has about 30 teas on it from all over the world.

Strawberry macaroons from heaven. A special edition to their summer tea.
Sometimes I find it frustrating to have these lovely afternoon teas in basically the hotel lobby, but Claridges was nice because “The Foyer” was set back far enough so that you could people watch, without feeling like you were in the middle of a traffic zone. That my ladies is the downfall with The Ritz if you ask me, all the tourists who come in and stare at you while you are trying to relax and enjoy….

Nothing says summer like pink bubbles…

Tea sandwiches included cucumber, egg salad, coronation chicken, and ham…

Freshly baked scones with Marco Polo jelly and Devonshire cream

And then came the dessert…..
As opposed to having a classic tea stand on your table, you actually have a little tea cart next to your table with all of your goodies…..adoraballoonies.

Service was also impeccable, and yet not rushed, which I always love. We ended up sipping and nibbling until 9 PM… whoops… too much enjoyment?
The End…

Hop on board with Junior League…

If you’re looking to meet some fantastic ladies, look no further than Junior League of London. I have so many friends who have joined this organization and they really appreciate the contacts they have made and the experiences they have had.
Here is a lovely opportunity to spend a day out with these women and your own family aboard the Golden Sunrise. What’s better than a BBQ, family, and friends right?
