In Honor of Mini-AG, a GIANT cupcake!

When I was preggertons, I used to pick up LOVE Bakery cupcakes (yes, sometimes more than one) and eat them bed. SO, I thought it was only fitting to get Mini AG’s first birthday cake there. I was so sad to learn that even though I went in two and a half weeks early, that they were fully booked to do Mini’s cake.

Hummingbird, definitely saved the day! I got this lovely cupcake-cake for the party, along with a ton of pink and purple cupcakes (and red velvet of course!) They were totally scrumptious and a big hit!  Horray!

Happy Birthday Mini-AG! Mommy loves you!

OH, and speaking of cakes, I forgot to post this from a couple months back… check out the amazing birthday cake Hubbity had made for me from the Chelsea Cake Shop. Too cute, right?

Cheers, xx

Glamour & Giving Event, Supporting Solace Women’s Aid…

The lovely W Girls got in touch recently to speak to me about this event. Lots of girly fun for a wonderful cause. I love the idea of “Declutter and Give Back.” I was able to do a major bathroom cabinet and make-up spring cleaning job, all for charity! Awesome idea ladies!
WGIRLS London is calling all ladies to join us at The Powder Room for an evening of cosmetics, cupcakes and champagne; all in the name of charity. Enjoy an evening celebrating vintage Hollywood glamour in support of WGIRLS and Solace Women’s Aid.
We are offering mini manicures or make-up consultations with a gorgeous cupcake and glass of pink bubbly thrown in – all for the advance ticket price of £18.
What you’ll get:
• Either a mini manicure by Nails at the Painted Lady OR a vintage-glamour make-up consultation (Ever wanted to have Hollywood lips, or cheeky burlesque cheeks? The Powerpuff Girls will show you!)
• A glass of pink bubbly
• A delectable cupcake from Beas of Bloomsbury
• A chance to win one of our generous beauty raffle prizes, including makeup, perfumes and skincare sets
• A chance to mingle, natter and catch up with friends
• An opportunity to ‘Declutter and Give Back!’ Do you have sample sizes of things you’ll never use, mini bottles of stuff from hotels, free gifts you receive at the beauty counter or unwanted Christmas or birthday gift sets? You can declutter your bathroom cabinet and make-up bag and know that all items will be given to women fleeing domestic violence at one of Solace’s refuge centres in London.
Where your money goes:
Funds raised and donated products will help us provide a day of pampering and beauty treatments for the women and their children fleeing domestic violence at one of Solace’s refuge centres, to help these women feel confident and beautiful. Many of these women will have left with very few belongings, and don’t have daily essentials like soap and deodorant.
The vision of Solace Women’s Aid is to support and protect women and children affected by domestic and sexual violence by providing a wide range of services including refuge houses and working to prevent domestic and sexual violence by influencing the policy and practice of others. For more information on Solace Women’s Aid please visit www.solacewomensaid.org.
Cheers! xx

Glamour & Giving Event…

Flat Hunting….

Hi girls,

I’ve had quite a few emails recently from girls who are in the process of moving to London. The most important part of that process is obviously finding a flat or a house.

Having moved several times within London, here are my tips….

(1) Don’t stay with just one sales or letting agent. The best thing to do is have several different agents working for you at the same time, and to stay on top of them! If there is something that you want to see, ask them. Don’t wait for one agent to get back to you, it will take a lot longer. (I would also say to avoid Foxtons agents, who are terrible! Just my opinion.)

(2) Be in charge of your own flat hunt. There are great websites now that consolidate all of the different letting agents so that it makes your search easier. My go-to ones have been: Find a Property, Right Move (which also has a great iphone app), and Prime Location. The best thing to do is start with the post code that you want to live in.

(3) You can bargain! Even on rental properties. I know that some of us are not used to being able to ask for a lower price on rents, but it is possible. Never just offer the asking price, you can usually get at least £50 or £100 off the pounds per week price.

Good luck American Girl in Chicago and American Girl in New York! Hope the move goes very smoothly!
{One of my favorite streets, Cheyne Walk}
Cheers! xx
