A few weeks ago my Husband and I visited the Old Swan and Minster Mill in the Cotswolds. The 600 year old coaching inn was the perfect London getaway, and one of the most relaxing weekends I have had in a long time.  It took us about two hours to drive from my office near Shepard’s Bush, and would have been quicker with less traffic.

The expansive property has a giant playground, gardens, tennis courts, and even a sweet little dock to go fishing. It is both family and dog friendly, and for a split second we felt bad not bringing the kids.

Thanks to the London summer weather this year (ah, hem, rain rain and more rain) , we ended up spending most of our day inside our cozy room with a massive four poster bed watching Pitch Perfect and taking frequent trips down for wine and nibbles.

The food at the Old Swan and Minister Mill was delicious, I’d definitely recommend the burger. Although there were some recommended pubs near by, we didn’t even feel the need to leave the property. The service at the hotel was also something to write home about. Every single member of the staff was so friendly and accommodating, they really did make us feel so welcome.

No better place to hide from the rain then in the spa… where I enjoyed a wonderful hour massage by candlelight. Bliss!

On our way home from the Old Swan, Husband and I stopped at Bicester Village for a little retail therapy. I bought some great things for Mini AG at the Stella McCartney Kids store, and went crazy in Ralph Lauren for Mini-AB.

I would definitely recommend a stay at the Old Swan and Minster Mill either for a romantic getaway, or for the entire family!
