American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

{Travel} Farewell January Sunshine.

February 2, 2012 | Leave a Comment

Today is my last day in Los Angeles and apparently my plan to avoid winter in London has been completely foiled, because according to all of you,
it’s freezing there.
Excellent.

The trip “home” has definitely been a whirlwind. For those AGs planning to visit Los Angeles in the near future, here are some highlights;

Never miss the Barneys Sale in January. There are some fab steals.

If you’re obsessed with the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (ah, hem), then dine at Villa Blanca. They really do hang out there. All the time.

Michael Voltaggio’s (ala Top Chef- yes, I watch a lot of Bravo) new restaurant INK, is definitely the place to see and be seen, although I don’t know if this is just a pregnant AG speaking, but I thought the portions were itty bitty and primarily consisted of foam.

If you need a little “me” time, I recommend checking into the Peninsula and booking a massage. Heaven.

If you are attempting to source couture, try Lynsey Michelle of Law of Fashion. She has a knack, and the connections for finding those impossible pieces, and I credit my new Celine loveliness to her.

The perfect place for a girls lunch is the newly revamped Hotel Bel Air. I loved it before, and I love it even more now that it’s taken over by The Dorchester Collection.

Didn’t think Middle Eastern food could be trendy? Leave it to SBE, and try Cleo if you feel like heading to Hollywood & Vine.

OK chickens, I’ve got lots to do today, including determining how much Byron & Tracey shampoo and Napa wine I can smuggle into the UK.
See you back in Chelsea.
