One of the most fun things about moving abroad is getting to decorate your new flat or house. Sometimes it’s tricky to buy big furniture pieces if you are on a short-term stint in London, so I always recommend picking up little things that you will treasure forever no matter where life takes you.
I came across these GORGEOUS cushions from Alexandra Foster, and I have to say, I am in love. Alexandra left her job as a furnishing fabrics product manager at a leading London department store and started to work with a renowned Italian mill, which supply the world’s top fashion houses, to design and launch her own line.
Designs are printed on silk fabric and each cushion is entirely hand sewn by Italian master seamstresses in an atelier in Como, Italy. Even the braided trim is crafted completely by hand and sourced from passémenterie artisans in Bologna, Italy.
All motifs are individually created by Alexandra and are directly inspired by her world travels; some even feature reproductions of her actual photography. Selected either for their intricate pattern details and the complexity of their color combinations, or their classic geometric elegance, each design underscores Alexandra’s belief that luxury begins at home. Each cushion cover features a 100% silk front and back, coordinating hand-braided trim, cotton lining, and zipper closure.
