American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

Joël Robuchon. He gets me every time.

While London used to get a bad-rap for terrible cuisine, we’ve got it all now, including all the big-name chefs…

On Tuesday we went to L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon, located over in Covent Garden, right next to The Ivy. My Hubby and I are just a little obsessed with Joël and have dined at his restaurants in New York, Las Vegas, Monte Carlo, and of course here in London.

The restaurant is divided into three floors. The Salon Bar is on top, and perfect for a before or after dinner cocktail. The second floor, La Cuisine, is more of the traditional restaurant setting, and the ground floor, L’Atelier, is high tables and counter seating overlooking part of the kitchen. The food is simply phenomenal, and I love the whole idea of French tapas!

Here are some of the things we ate…

Amuse-bouche from heaven. A little foie gras, a little parmesean, and I forget the rest….
Yellow tail tartar, herbs on fennel mousse
Beef and foie gras burger with caramelised bell peppers, and fries of course!

Seared scallops on top of polenta….
Hubby’s wasabi crusted beef with roasted artichokes and asparagus
 The famous mashed-potatoes.

French martinis at the Salon Bar after dinner…

Ok, gym time.
