An AG from New York writes: “Do you have any suggestions for restaurant food delivery in the Chelsea area? Coming from New York City we were spoiled with food delivery and I’m having a hard time finding places who deliver a good meal!”
Thanks to new technology many places can now get food delivery services in their area. We can order on websites, phone calls, apps, and with it being so widely available it is hard when you get to an area that has not quite got the new tech to deliver their delicious food. I think if you are in the food service industry you should be striving to make the change to include food deliveries, as it has become easier with companies like DataDreamers who help you to achieve this goal (find details from DataDreamers here). I love food deliveries, all you have to do is get cozy in your pj’s, and then it’s right there delivered to your door!
Thanks NY gal. I hear you, it takes a while to find great delivery in any city. Well, thanks to the X-Factor, and the recent chill in the air, I have some great suggestions…..
For Pizza:
Located all over London, these “gourmet”pizzas, are delicious. Call or order online. My favorite, the “Spinaci” with fresh baby spinach, feta cheese, black olives, oregano, EVOO, tomato and mozzarella. Firezza has become one of the most popular and reliable delivery services in London. Using up to date courier software has been the driving force behind this increased reliability and efficiency.
For Japanese:
Koi available on Urbanbite.
Located in Kensington, and a tad pricey (minimum spend is £18) but very delicious sushi, tempura, and other Japanese favorites. My usual order: edamame, spicy tuna, asparagus tempura rolls, and sometimes the rock shrimp tempura. (Check out Urbanite for other delivery spots!)
Itsu:
Located all over London, affordable for sushi, and available for lunch deliveries! Descent for sashimi and sushi. My usual order: California rolls, one of the healthy salad boxes, and sesame spinach.
For Chinese & Thai:
Pretty good delivery for Chinese food. I’ve dabbled in their stir-frys, and pad thais and all are pretty yum. The lettuce rolls with minced veggies and meat are a good substitute if you’re missing PF Changs.
For Italian:
Located on Fulham Road, this is great for eat-out or delivery. This Tuscan home cooking always makes me really happy! My favorites: Insalada Di Spinaci (spinach, prosciutto, avocado, and parmesan) and the Spaghettini alla Checca (spagettini with sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and olive oil.) A fun fact: Riccardo’s also does gluten-free pastas!
For Indian:
Check out this post all about it! My usual order: Chicken tikka masala, pulao rice, garlic naan! Not for a healthy night-in! But a yummy one none the less.
For Burgers:
Okay, okay, they don’t deliver- but they do take-away, and its one of my favorite places to pick up from. My usual order, either the Veggie burger or the iceberg wedge, and when I’m feeling naughty- an oreo milkshake! Hint: they also open early on the weekends if you’ve had a big night out the night before!
Hope that helps AG from NY!
Cheers! xx

Love the listing- tried urbanbite yesterday eve as fancied an Indian and not keen on Bombay bicycle as had the worst ever take away from there in the summer – must have been unlucky as it gets very good reviews. Tried guru express and it was really good! So tonight another take away was required so i had no choice(!) but to go for the Byron burger, fries and Oreo shake! Now can you suggest a gym?

Mandaloun offers great Lebanese food for delivery (they have a Chelsea and Fulham location). Also, the Earl's Court Wagamama does delivery. And I believe Feng Sushi.
You can try Room Service, a delivery service aggregator, but the service isn't great and it's pretty expensive.

Thanks FON and Lauren for the comments.
FON- try Bombay again, it is super yum!
Lauren- Thanks for the Lebanese rec, I'll definitely try. I'm not such a fan of Feng Sushi though, as I don't think the fish is that fresh….
Cheers to you both! AG

For pizza, I would really recommend Pizza Lupa (www.lupa.co.uk). They have several sites in London and their pizzas are of different league than Domino's. Besides, they recently won an industry award. I personally love them!
