Syd Hayes from L’Oréal Paris invited me backstage to at the Mary Katrantzou catwalk show at the Royal Horticultural Halls on Sunday night. I adore Mary’s designs, and was excited to see what she had in store for the models. Each girl had china-doll like lashes from MAC glued on to their lower eyelids. Apparently the make-up artists, led by Val Garland, were up until 1AM in the morning ironing the false lashes to make them perfect.
Syd created a distinct bend in each model’s hair, and although things were extremely rushed backstage, Syd remained totally calm and collected under the time constraints. I was getting more anxious then he was!
After the models were just to Mary’s liking, they hit a spongy hot pink catwalk… stay tuned for photos from the show.
