I love hanging out at lovely hotels. Whether it be for a delicious cocktail, scrumptious dinner, or a day at the spa, there are some fantastic hotels in London, including some hidden gems.
The Montcalm Hotel is a 5 star hotel near Marble Arch and is a one stop shop for AGs. It has just been renovated and is a great spot for those who need… well… anything! I was invited last week to preview the new hot-spot and I was not disappointed.
Need a cheeky post-work drink? The bar (with an award winning bartender) is the perfect place to unwind. I tried the Supermodel Martini which was very yummy – a mix of sweet, gin, and champagne! The bar offers a great atmosphere with comfy booths that is beautifully decorated and the perfect place to catch up with friends, to escape the cold, or really any excuse you can find to stop in for a drink.
Need to relax and beautify? The spa offers top of the line treatments, which begins with soaking your feet in herbs to help take you away from the outside world and into relaxation mode. They offer a wide variety of treatments, but the one that sparks my interest is the Thai Herbal Heat Energiser, which uses a heated pack of herbs that is used to massage your skin. This treatment was invented in the 14th century for soldiers returning home with aching muscles. Think of a hot stone massage using a heated pack of herbs that open the pores, seep into your skin, and invigorates you at the same time!
Need a spot of tea? After a full day of fighting the crowds at Selfridges, this is the perfect spot to sit, contemplate whether you should head back to buy that clutch you’ve been eyeing, and enjoy a traditional afternoon tea for a great price (£20 for the traditional tea, £27 for a Champagne tea).
Need a spot to throw a ladies lunch, holiday party, or date night? The Grill offers a modern atmosphere for diners, and they have a gorgeous room that you can rent out for private parties.
So if you’re in the Marylebone area and need of a bit of a work/shopping/life break pop into The Montcalm and have a little explore for yourself.
