American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

{Eat and Drink} Ladies, Pont Street is your new spot to lunch.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve sat around with girlfriends and had the same conversation about where to go to lunch. “Why can’t we just order a few small bites and a salad?!” I’ve said it a million times. WELL, girls, I have your new place to schedule your lunch dates.

The Belgraves Hotel in Belgravia has opened up Pont Street Restaurant by acclaimed chef Sophie Michell, currently the youngest female Executive Chef in Britain.

And Sophie just gets it. I guess it’s because she has spent time in California (and Australia, and the Mediterranean).

There is an amazing array of small starter plates to share, and a great selection of delicious salads. Since the restaurant is primarily known for it’s sea food, my girlfriend and I shared the crab cakes and tuna tartare. For my main, I ordered the “Classic chopped” salad with  chicken, blue cheese, bacon, asparagus, beetroot. It was the absolute perfect lunch salad. My friend had the Superfood Salad with quinoa, mint, pomegranate, radish and pistachios.

Don’t worry. If you feel like bringing the man in your life, Pont Street also offers a a selection of meat specialties such as the Gloucester Old Spot pork chop with celeriac gratin, apple jelly and ‘Waldorf’ salad.

I’ve already booked to go back next week.
