One of the most memorable stops on our Disney Cruise was Palma, where we spent the day at the Belmond La Residencia high up in the hills of Mallorca. With breathtaking views, gorgeous art, and a pool you’ll want to lounge at all day, this is another place I simply must spend more time at.
The hotel has 67 rooms, one villa and each one is decorated differently with unique art and antiques, no two rooms are the same. There is a special emphasis on art at the Belmond La Residencia with an ever changing collection, an in-house sculptor and the Sa Tafona Art Gallery. The property also boasts three pools, a spa, out-door tennis courts, three restaurants, and a sculpture garden.
After a short drive from the port of Palma we were welcomed at the hotel and given a tour of the grounds. We then had a swim followed by the most delicious lunch by the pool. The kids and my Husband opted for pizza (his amazing seafood pizza creation is pictured above), while I enjoyed the buffet which included yummy salads and fresh seafood.
If you want to bring your Mini’s to the Belmond La Residencia there’s a dedicated kids club which offers pottery and cooking classes. After lunch Mini-AG and Mini-AB spent several hours getting their faces painted and creating their own artwork, inspired by the beautiful Spanish surroundings. (If you decide that you would rather leave the kids at home, there’s an adult-only pool, nestled amongst acres of scented olive and citrus groves.)
I’m not sure why anyone would ever want to leave this little slice of heaven, but if you’re craving beach time, there’s also a complimentary shuttle to Cala Deià near by.
This hotel is a must book, and if you’re already thinking about October half-term, you should definitely consider the Belmond La Residencia.
