American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

{Beauty} There’s no way you can’t get skinny…

October 8, 2012 | Leave a Comment

This is week two of the Barrecore challenge, however if you are way too busy even to squeeze an hour of exercise into your super busy day, then you can also get skinny by subscribing to one of the many amazing food or juice delivery services available in London. Here are my top three…

Radiance

The Radiance Juice Cleanse company offers bespoke cleanses. You can do a a three or five day cleanse OR pick one day of the week to detox. I did a three-day cleanse, and while I did feel hungry the first couple of days, the hunger soon subsided. In three days I lost about two pounds. The Radiance system also uses supplements which help your digestion to keep going even though you aren’t eating solid foods.

A five day cleanse costs around £345.

Soulmatefood

Soulmatefood also offers a three or five day cleanse. The difference here is that the juices are a little more substantial and actually feel more like smoothies than juices. And there are six of them, so you definitely don’t get as hungry. My favorite was the Vitality juice which included pineapple, banana and coconut. I did a five day cleanse and lost about four pounds.

The five day cleanse costs £200, but keep checking back because they always have deals on.

The Pure Package

If you can’t face not eating for a few days, but would prefer to lose weight eating healthy, portion controlled meals, then Pure Package is your best bet. The downside? It’s pretty pricey (between £30-35 per day)  but in my experience, if you cut down on your Ocado order, and really commit to eating the meals that are delivered, as opposed to eating out, then the price tag won’t bother you so much.

Here is one of the menu’s I tested:

Breakfast: Roasted leek, pepper and mozzarella frittata

Snack: Plums and Hazelnuts

Lunch: Chicken Superfood Salad

Snack: Fruit, nut and seed bar.

Dinner: Butternut Squash and Herbed Mushroom Cakes

Sound yum? It is! You’ll even get dessert thrown in a few times so curb your sweet tooth, but it’s portion controlled so you won’t have to feel guilty. I only did a three day trial of the Pure Package, but did a longer term plan right after I had Mini-AG. I credit this service and a ton of gym time for getting me back in shape after baby numero uno.

Have your pancakes and eat ’em too!
