American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

Award-Winning Martinis…. In my backyard… Who Knew….

June 23, 2011 | Leave a Comment

It was such a thrill to be invited to the Aubrey bar at the Kensington Hotel this week, to sample some of  Alessandro Pizzoli’s (Galvin Cup Champion), creations. Alessandro has beaten out every head bartender in the city, including those at the The Dorchester and The Savoy.

And. Scene…. The Kensington has recently undergone a major (ah, hem.. 20 million pound) renovation, and while the hotel is elegant, the Aubrey Bar (named Aubrey after Aubrey De Vere, who was granted the Estate of Kensington by William The Conqueror) is opulent. With slate flooring, distressed mirrors, raw oak panels and a deep-blue Yves Klein inspired glass ceiling, is is the ideal setting for London’s finest cocktails.

And I mean, finest…. Check out some of Alessandro’s creations…

And, then came the canapes.
(After my martini tasting, I think they were a bit worried about my walking capabilities….)

Delicious. I am going back for dinner ASAP.

Did I give you a good tip for this weekend OR WHAT?

Um, hi. The Fab Friday Facial Giveaway ends TOMORROW! Have you entered?
