American Girl in Chelsea

A chic guide for American women who have relocated to London, England.

A lovely Friday afternoon tea…

April 12, 2011 | 1 Comment

I was invited to try afternoon tea last Friday at Cocomaya on Pavillion Road near Sloane Square. It is such an adorable place. If you have visitors in town for Spring or Summer, I would definitely recommend making a pit stop at this adorable cafe/artisan bakery/chocolatier.

All of the china is mix-matched and quintessentially British. The sandwiches were amazing and so were the scones and pastries.

Why this tea is special: Cocomaya was put together by of three of the biggest players in the fashion industry: Joel Bernstein, former head of concept at Liberty of London (AG’s favorite department store), Walid al Damirji, accessories designer and fashion consultant, and Serena Rees, founder of Agent Provocateur. Enough said.

After your done, and your tummy is full, have a stroll down Pavillion Road. Check out the super cute bikini’s at Heidi Klein or grab something for your mini AG at The Little White Company.

{Take some special chocolates home from your delicious encounter @ Cocomaya!}
Cheers. xx

    Sounds wonderful! Afternoon tea is my “thing.” I frequently give teas as well as attend them, and I blog some of my favorite tea recipes and venues.
