I completely respect and highly admire you moms out there that love to spend the time making your own birthday party decorations, baking a delicious cake, and matching the perfect balloons to a glittery table cloth , but I am just not one of those moms. Yes, I want everything to be perfect for my Mini’s but I want to have someone else help me do it.
Last Saturday I threw a “Royal Ball” birthday party for Mini-AG’s 3rd and Mini-AB’s 1st birthdays. I called Chelsea, owner of Jem’s Fairies, who had helped me with one of the kid’s christening parties, and I asked if she could please make the princess and prince decorations, source a sleeping beauty cake, and by the way, if Cinderella could come that would also be fabulous. Well, Chelsea and her magical birthday party fairies delivered in a big way.
We held the party at The Kensington Hotel on Queens Gate. The Fairies had arrived at the hotel before I could and decorated the entire dining room with personalized royal bunting and had set a place for each little prince and princess with a handmade crown for them to wear while they ate.
The children arrived and were immediately drawn to Cinderella (one of the many Jem’s Fairies entertainers) and all of her music and games. For tea time, the staff at Aubrey Doyle, the restaurant in The Kensington Hotel, prepared the perfect kids menu of pizza, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chicken fingers. Cinderella circled the table and did face painting while the children ate their nibbles, and the moms and dads enjoyed a glass (or two) of champagne.
After eating, the children were entertained some more with a parachute and magic tricks, before it was time to cut the beautiful cake which was covered with all of Mini-AG’s favorite Disney princesses. It was such a perfect party and I can’t recommend both Fairy Jem and her team, and the Aubrey Doyle restaurant as a venue, high enough.
